Our 2026 dahlia tuber sale is now live!

We have over 100 varieties and a wide selection of black and white dahlias! We are a small farm and we don't have tons of each offering so our unicorns may sell-out quickly.


General Announcements:

All tubers ship in April and at the very latest, early May, as weather permits. We are located in zone 6a Western NY. We will always ship as early as it is safe to do so and will ship to southern states first. We are trying to get away from flat rate shipping and will meter each shipment based in weight. So shipping fees are variable based on the number of tubers in your cart. We will write the name of the variety directly on each tuber with marker and will pack all tubers in one bag of vermiculite.

What We Guarantee

We guarantee a viable eye and the dahlia variety.

If you get a blind tuber, we will refund that tuber value. If you get a mislabel, we will refund that tuber value.

We may ask for your patience as the tuber sprouts because some take longer than others and our cold climate gets them into deep dormancy.

Farmer Jamie touches every tuber 4-6 times between harvest, dividing, storage, storage check, labelling and shipping. This means we are paying attention to the quality of our tubers.

If the tuber is desiccated, we will not ship it.

If we can't find an eye, we will not ship it.

We will always ship the best stock that we have and keep the ugly ducklings, slightly desiccated and extra small tubers for our own farm.

Why does this matter? This means there may be occasional storage failure and refunds. You will be emailed and refunded in the event that our stored tuber stock does not meet our shipping quality standards.

 

What We Cannot Guarantee

Viral infection. We practice strict sanitation, cull and remove bad stock, and try very hard to keep our plants vibrant and healthy.

Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee virus-free tubers.

We believe that many dahlia plants and tuber stock on the market may carry dormant viral infections that express themselves under stress (like humans).

We do not sell any tubers from plants with obvious viral infections- we have always removed these plants as soon as we have an indication there may be disease. 

How can you help your tubers grow into healthy plants? Keep your plants as stress-free as possible by planting them in warm, fertile soil, giving them adequate water and light and reducing transplant shock or delay. We highly recommend compost tea applications to build the microbiology of your soil which helps your plants to stay fed and their "immune-systems" strong.

 

Ordering FAQs

  • Please sign up for our newsletter to be notified about sale dates. Having items in your cart does not mean they are reserved; you must check out to finalize your order. You will receive an email confirmation upon completion of your order. 
  • Items in your cart are not confirmed until checkout is complete. If you notice items disappear from you cart during the checkout process, it is because someone else checked out and paid for the item before you. Sorry we have no control over that.
  • Dahlia Tubers are sold separately as one tuber (not a clump) with a viable eye and true to variety.
  • If you purchase dahlias from us you will see they are different from dahlias that you buy at the garden center.
  • Dahlias come in all shapes and sizes and some dahlia variety tubers shrivel a bit.
  • We do not refund or cancel tuber orders after your order is submitted.

 

Shipping FAQs

  • Dahlia tuber orders are shipped mid-April to very early May by growing zone when risk of freezing in transit is gone. You will receive an email prior to shipping letting you know your order is on the way. 
  • We ship dahlia tuber orders in The United States (We do not ship to Hawaii and Alaska) No international orders.
  • Dahlia Patch cannot be held responsible for post shipment storage and planting conditions.
  • Dahlias cannot be subjected to freezing temperatures, and we will only ship as weather allows.
  • You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped.
  • Dahlia tubers come in a bag with vermiculite and a single label per variety.
  • Please your tubers immediately upon arrival. If you are not planting your tubers immediately, please re-pack them with the materials that you use to store your tubers. Each climate and environment is different, and our shipping packaging is not meant to be used to store your tubers for an extended amount of time. Use the storage method that works best in your climate. 
  • Shipping charge is $15 per order. This cost covers the expenses of labor, shipping charges, and the biodegradable packing materials used to cushion and protect the cuttings and tubers.
  • We will do our best to combine multiple orders to save on shipping but cannot guarantee a shipping refund for multiple orders.

Refunds & Guarantee FAQs

  • We do not refund dahlia tuber orders when you change your mind.
  • We guarantee that our tubers will have at least one eye and be true to variety. 
  • Dahlia Patch will not be held responsible for loss due to weather, sub-optimal growing and storing conditions or practices.
  • We do our best to grow healthy dahlias, but we do not offer a virus-free guarantee.

Terms and Conditions

  • By purchasing from our farm, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
  • We do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. All sales are final.
  • We pack each order with care, and only send the best we have available.
  • Each order is documented and triple-checked for accuracy and health before it ships.
  • In the case of a crop failure, you will be notified by email and issued a refund for the variety that failed.
  • You must contact us within 3 days of receiving your shipment, should there be any concerns upon arrival.
  • Please provide an order number, pictures, and an explanation of the issue you are experiencing. 
  • Dahlia Patch is not liable for any monetary compensation beyond a refund for the purchase price of your tubers.
  • Please allow 24 hours for email communication. We check email during regular business hours.
